The road from Vung Tau to Saigon was long. Memories of Vietnam

Two images of the author in Vietnam.
One is of the author, bearded, in front of his house in Vung Tau when he was working at the camp at Van Kiep.this was during his rather wild period at the begining of his first tour in 1965.
The other is of the author in Saigon in the road in front of his house. This was during his respectable period where he had rejoined the ranks of civilised society. he was also married. This was in early 1972.
A lot had happened between the two photos. There were also some catastrophic events waiting to happen.

I have just spent 3 hours reading this page and studying your photographs, I am still on the front page. Every photograph here tells a story, often a tragic story. It's shame you lost so many photographs but it happens all the time especially when you move about a lot, I have lost so many too. I have been to Phan Thiet so many times the past few years, it's hard to imagine what life was back then. My wifes parents have bought a house in Ba Ria near Vung Tau and it's still long road to Saigon.
