A Season of Flowers. Tan Dinh, Saigon. Memories of Vietnam
In Spring there was always an abundance of flowers in my house. Tet, the New Year, actually arrived before Spring but with all the flowers and girls and young women in new dresses (AoDai) and the weather still bearable the atmosphere was springlike.
There was of course no winter in the South. Hot and dry or hot and wet. Humidity unbearable. The climate certainly took some getting used to.
There was also though a quiet grace in their manner of walking that made the women so appealing. What a lovely word though 'grace'.
