A scene in Phan Thiet. 1968 Memories of Vietnam
A US army officer and a Vietnamese soldier come hurrying back from observing a possible Viet Cong position. Another American soldier is covering them next to the 106mm Recoiless Rifle.
This was another more or less everyday scene in Phan Thiet in that Spring of 1968.
I had my own job at the airfield but when off duty I was obliged to drive down town to eat at the advisers mess whereI was officially attached.
I was then often pulled towards whatever action was going on.
